Timely Talent

Besides tutoring and interning, there are a number of ways you can support our efforts. To volunteer in one of the areas listed below, please fill out our Interest Form. You may also contact us at 626-969-7051 or info@onhh.org with any questions.

  • Handy Helpers
  • If you are handy, then the Homework House needs you! Our Handy Helpers provide building and site maintenance for our three sites. We often have fix-it jobs or new construction and appreciate those with the skills and passion for this work. Our list of Handy Helpers gives us individuals to contact when needs arise.

  • A-Team
  • Homework House's "A" (Admin) Team is a focused group of individuals overseen by the Administrative Director who support Homework House infrastructure. With efforts ranging from book-keeping, tech support, data entry, computer/network support, web development, scanning, filing, and other various office responsibilities, both talented professionals as well as those with basic skills are needed. Volunteers may contribute their time to special projects or on a regular basis.

  • Consulting
  • If you are an expert in education, business, computers, fundraising, board development, or a program area you think could benefit us, we'd love to have you involved. Contact us via the information below.

  • Board Membership
  • Homework House is always interested in vibrant community members who can represent our community, raise support, and further our mission. If you feel you can contribute by being a member of our board, let us know!

  • Event Committee
  • As part of fundraising efforts, the Homework House plans several events throughout the year. If you have experience in this area or just want to help where needed, get involved.

  • Seminar Presenter
  • Seminars are offered to parents in their home language (Spanish) in order to equip them with the tools to ensure the pursuit of higher education in their families, provide the necessities (food, clothing, housing, medical, etc.), and expand their knowledge of the U.S. education system. These workshops embolden families from the extremely-low to low income bracket to expand their knowledge and bring their families the tools to succeed!

Past workshops have included: Computer literacy, nutrition/health, finance/budgeting, parenting (discipline, teens, and developmental stages), and U.S. immigration system (how it affects your family & opportunities for higher education). Must possess professional expertise in one of the areas listed above or any area applicable to the demographic we serve. Must be Spanish-speaking or capable of providing a translator for the workshop.
