Neighborhood Homework House Neighborhood Building
Rationale: NHH provides academic, social and spiritual tools to enable students to thrive and believes that a critical component is the family and their neighborhood as well. Thus, NHH provides leadership to the establishment and support of a Parent Advisory Group to encourage and support the neighbors in which NHH sites are established.
Parent Advisory Group
Mission: To facilitate community within their neighborhoods.
Objectives:
- Serve as a resource to neighbors
- Encourage other parents in their parenting
- Facilitate NHH required parent points for participation
- Advise staff and assist in evaluating neighborhood events
- Build and encourage neighborhood leaders
- Assist in planning End of the year Celebration where they too are recognized for their service to the neighborhoods
- To establish a process for assisting neighbors with produce from garden as well as financial assistance from yard sales.
Goal: To train and facilitate parent meetings to accomplish the mission, objectives and identified goals.

Seminars: Financial Management, Computer and Internet, English as Second
Language (Rosetta stone), Literacy with Kids Connect parents with other

- Identifying Gang Behaviors
- Police Assistance Food Banks and their offerings
