Our Neighborhood Homework House Cherishes Each Child
Our Neighborhood Homework House held it’s annual Live and Silent Auction on March 7th and raised over $43,000. The money will go to equip at-risk children and their families to thrive, academically, socially, and spiritually.
Azusa, California. March 25, 2008 – This year, over 150 people came together to Cherish Each Child by participating in Neighborhood Homework House’s annual Live and Silent auction. The event was held in Wilden Hall on the Azusa Pacific University Campus. Guests arrived and were greeted by Homework House teens as they proceeded to the event.
Guests were able to bid on some fantastic items, such as all-inclusive trips, concert tickets, helicopter rides and various other items. Attendees were also invited to participate in a raffle throughout the evening with some handsome prizes to be awarded.
Comedienne Debi Gutierrez was the Master of Ceremonies and the comic relief for the evening. She entertained everyone with her jokes and kept the live auction going with her quick moving and fast-talking. Guests were also entertained with a video highlighting a few children who participate in the Homework House. Other kids and their families were present for the event as well.
The evening was a grand success overall, raising over $43,000 to support the Neighborhood Homework House and its programs.
Our Neighborhood Homework House is a 501©3 charitable organization that seeks to establish and sustain neighborhood-based learning centers in Azusa wherein at-risk children and their families are equipped to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
