Meet Our Staff

Executive Director
Barbara Dickerson, Ph.D.

Dr. Barbara Dickerson has been involved at Homework House for more than 7 years. She initially served as a tutor and then consulted with the Executive Director. Later she became a member of the Board of Directors for Homework House and served in that role for 6 years. Dr. Dickerson has more than three decades of professional work in K-12, the community college and university settings. During her tenure in these educational settings she has developed and managed budgets and facilities. She also evaluated and provided leadership to both professional and para professional staff members.

 

Senior Program Director
Shana Urive


As a ’07 graduate of Azusa Pacific University Shan has served as Program Coordinator for three years at Homework House. Her recent responsibilities with Neighborhood Building, the Parent Advisory Council, the Juvenile Justice System as well as K-5 Programming have allowed her to assume the role of Senior Program Director. She brings to Homework House strong bilingual skills as well as some educational experience with Azusa Unified School District. She tutored with Homework House for 2 years and offered programming to Cerritos Kids. Shana also has worked with junior high students in a youth group in Northern California.


Teen Program Director
Adrian Greer


Adrian currently serves teens grades 6-12. He has been instrumental in identifying and establishing a separate meeting location for teens. Adrian has been with Homework House since 2007 when Homework House made a commitment to programming for teens. He brings to his work experience in Azusa Unified School District as well as Think Together. Both of those exposures provided understanding of youth development. He is furthering that understanding by working with youth in a local church as well as completing his undergraduate degree.


K-5 Program Director
Crystal Marquez

Crystal is a ’08 graduate of Cal State San Bernardino and has served as the Ninth Street Program Coordinator for two years. She brings to Homework House her work with the paraprofessional staff at the community college level as well as her interpersonal and leadership skills. Her bilingual skills provide a strong connection to Homework House families. Crystal serves as the ‘official’ translator for the Homework House.


Administrative Director
Luke Spink


Luke is a ’09 graduate of Azusa Pacific University and brings to Homework House a mix of business, technical, and administrative skills, along with a background in youth services.  Luke’s responsibilities include accounting, financial reporting, administrative oversight, and the monitoring of Homework House’s internal performance.
